Victorian Valentine's Day Card - Gentleman with Heart Flowers

Emerging from a stone archway like the most overdressed man at a Renaissance faire, this purple-coated, yellow-sashed colonial dandy thrusts a bouquet with a giant red heart stuck in it toward the viewer with the energy of someone who has definitely been rejected before and is trying a new approach. He holds his tricorn hat in his other hand — presumably removed in a gesture of courtly respect, though the rosy-cheeked smirk he's wearing suggests he thinks this is already going very well for him. The poem 'In this small sign I find a way to greet my dearest Love to-day' is doing a lot of heavy lifting to justify what is essentially a man showing up at your window in full 18th-century regalia with craft-store florals, and the border of little red hearts plastered absolutely everywhere screams 'I have been thinking about you specifically.'
