Vintage Valentine's Day Greeting Card with Children & Joy-Ride Theme

The proportions here are spectacularly wrong—two faceless children with hats so enormous they've completely consumed their heads hold hands in what the card insists is a romantic gesture. One kneeling figure sports a blue polka-dot outfit and a yellow hat with a brim doing the Lord's work of hiding whatever expression of desperation lies beneath, while the standing girl's white bonnet has achieved sentience and is clearly the dominant personality in this relationship. Slapped beneath this tableau of hat-obscured courtship is 'Let's make our lives one big joy-ride together,' a phrase that was presumably innocent in 1910 and has only gotten worse with age. Truly a Valentine for people who believe love is best expressed by two enormous hats holding hands.
