Vintage German Christmas Angels Card, Early 1900s

Why are two angels perched on clouds above a snow-covered German village instead of, say, staying in heaven? Because apparently heaven's orchestra has a seating shortage and these two are sharing a stand. The larger angel in the blue robe plays violin while reading from an ornate music stand — very committed to the bit — while the smaller angel in peach, sporting a festive floral wreath crown, watches from just behind with the eager energy of a student who definitely did not practice. 'Fröhliche Weihnachten' is announced in Art Nouveau lettering, framed by gold botanical flourishes, as if the universe needed a decorative reminder that this level of serene, cloud-seated musical competence is, in fact, a Christmas thing.
