Vintage Halloween Greeting Card with Cherubs and Jack-o'-Lanterns

Two naked cherubs with tiny gold wings are perched together inside a dark oval frame, clutching a large jack-o'-lantern between them like it's their emotional support gourd — which, frankly, tracks. The pumpkin they're fondling has a leering carved face, as do the additional jack-o'-lanterns floating ominously around the composition, because apparently one demonic squash wasn't enough. The cursive text cheerfully declares 'May Love Light Your Hallow-Een Lantern,' a sentence that sounds romantic, vaguely threatening, and deeply confusing in equal measure. Victorian greeting card designers were clearly operating on a different plane of reality — one where naked baby angels aggressively cuddling pumpkins was considered a totally normal expression of seasonal affection.
